A name is a claim. Verification is evidence.

1. Names Dibbit may hold before claim

Dibbit may reserve an unclaimed name when it creates a material risk of impersonation, fraud, public-service confusion, namespace abuse, or a likely rights conflict. A hold is a safety and review state. It is not a finding that a particular claimant owns the name, and it is not an asset Dibbit promises to sell.

A person or organization that represents a held name may submit evidence for review. The review can consider identity, trademark evidence, organizational authority, linked-account control, public context, and counter-evidence. No single signal decides every case.

2. If a famous or business name was claimed first

Dibbit does not automatically award the name to the earliest claimant, the most famous claimant, the person who pays the most, or anyone who merely passes an identity check. A raw submission stays private. An operator-admitted review can place the name in a contested state and hold future claims or transfer activity without changing the current owner.

During review, public wording may say “Affiliation unconfirmed” or “Name contested.” Dibbit does not silently transfer the holder's inbox, messages, contacts, reputation, permissions, or private capabilities. Any correction of a claimed route remains subject to the Terms, notice, applicable law, and a documented audit record.

The launch workflow does not automate holder notice, evidence exchange, appeals, or @name transfers. Until those safeguards exist, an operator can hold a name for review or close the case without a Dibbit finding, but cannot use the dashboard to transfer the address.

3. What a linked X or Instagram profile means

An official connection may establish control of a specific external account at a point in time. It does not automatically establish a legal name, trademark ownership, employment, business authority, endorsement, safety, or permission to import private messages. Each provider's permissions, review requirements, and privacy rules continue to apply.

4. Names are not marketplace inventory

The planned marketplace-interest feature is limited to eligible numeric Dibbit IDs. Identity-bearing @names, protected names, verified affiliations, credentials, messages, contacts, reputation, and account history cannot be listed, priced, gifted, or traded through that feature.

5. Report or assert rights

A rights case must identify the name, the relationship being asserted, and the basis for review. Submitting a case does not guarantee a hold, suspension, transfer, or decision in the submitter's favor. Knowingly false submissions may result in account restrictions.
